Three Rivers Race 2010

Horning was busy with spectators for the start of the 50th Anniversary Three Rivers Race on Sat 5th June 2010. Most people seemed to have travelled by car and the roadside parking made it difficult for pedestrians and cyclists. One trio brought bikes with them, saying that when they looked at the map they realised the vantage points in Horning, Ludham Bridge and Potter Heigham were close enough to cycle between. Unfortunately the A1062 is not pleasant to ride along - especially with visitor traffic.

Spectators enjoyed the 3RWA display at St Benet's Green and thanks go to Horning Sailing Club for their support in the race programme. Race results can be seen at www.horningsc.co.uk .

Norwich 100/50 Cycle Ride

Almost 3000 cyclists entered the British Heart Foundation Norwich 100/50 cycle event on Sunday 6th June. The route took them along the A1062. They had to contend with the holiday traffic as well as the damp road surface.

The Tour of Britain 2010 cycle race Stage 6 includes the A1062 which links local villages. For the safety of the participating cyclists the road will be closed to other traffic sometime between 14.00 and 15.00 on Thursday 16th September. http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/

The Three Rivers Way Association is having a stand at BeWILDerwood, the Adventure Park between Hoveton and Horning, so please come and see us there!
