Hoveton & Wroxham to Horning
Walking distance: 40 minutes
Cycling distance: 20 minutes
Length: 2.5 miles / 4.2 km
Current provision:
Existing footpath on the north side of the A1062 does not meet expectations as a pathway.
inadequate width – people have to walk in single file over most of the length
potholed field access points, thick with mud; varied surface, often poor; narrow width often overgrown; intrusive hedgerow in places; no signage; no restpoint
Proposed route:
Following the line of the existing track
Standard 2.5 metre wide path over most of the length where the width allows, retaining grass verge where possible.
Consistent surface
Management of hedgerow and trees with replanting where necessary.
Signage to amenities and places of interest e.g. Horning Village, RAF Radar Museum and  Millenium Park at Hoveton, rail link to Norwich and Sheringham at Hoveton
Possible restpoints and interpretation panels
Superior access for green travel to Bewilderwood.
