The Three Rivers Way is an exciting and challenging new project to link villages
on the Northern Broads rivers with a safe, pleasant route for walkers, cyclists and
those with mobility problems. The route is known as The Three Rivers Way because
it links villages on the Norfolk Broads rivers: the Bure, Ant and Thurne.
The Three Rivers Way Association exists to promote this shared-use route between four villages on the Norfolk Broads. The Association was formed in early 2008 by local residents in Hoveton, Horning, Ludham and Potter Heigham.
The Association is seeking the creation of the Three Rivers Way in order to
· make it easier for residents and visitors, including those with mobility problems, to get to local services, employment, schools, shops and facilities
· help everyone to get more exercise
· reduce the number of short car journeys
· improve tourism in the area and raise the local economic base
The Association is working with Norfolk County Council, in consultation with local residents and landowners. The Association has over 1000 supporters and a strong action group working with local schools, businesses, disability groups and Broads Authority Countryside Rangers and it is seeking funding for sections of the route.
